| To promote the exchange between industry and university, the cluster of excellence organizes the series of lectures „I did it my way! – career paths from university to industry“ since 2009. The overall aim of the 14 lectures is to present interesting and extraordinary career paths to research assistants and students of RWTH Aachen University. Moreover, getting insights into enterprises and tasks of the respective speakers as well as enabling a direct contact between speakers and participants is intended. |  |  |

UROP
 | | UROP is the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme of RWTH Aachen University. It aims to provide RWTH students as well as excellent students from partner universities with the opportunity to carry out their own research projects under the guidance of experience RWTH researchers. Thus UROP supports the University's research activities and involves young academics in exciting research early on in their university career. |

Project Leonardo
 | | Within the Excellence Initiative, the RWTH Aachen University developed the future strategy, "Meeting Global Challenges". The task is to direct the future research towards the global challenges of our time. The aim of the 'Leonardo project' is to include students in this task. Students from both engineering and natural sciences as well as from the cultural and social sciences discuss together in different modules to find in an interdisciplinary dialogue possible solutions. |
