ICD E: Technology Roadmaps

Based on the vision of the CoE the objectives for every ICD will be specified and linked with the related technologies to be developed in the cluster. It also shows which technologies have the role of an enabler for other technology developments. Therefore, the activities within the CoE are systematically acquired and transferred into a logic sequence with respect to the time. External technology screening enables the comparison with industrial and university research that takes place outside the CoE. This kind of benchmark leads to research that is aligned with industry needs and demands. The research-strands documented in the roadmaps show the current and future research demands and exhibit developments that call for others. From the roadmaps new target oriented research can be derived. Therefore, the roadmaps play a decisive role in the definition of new research projects for the flexible funds. Overall, the roadmaps show the change from today’s production to an integrative production technology. They name the guidelines that determine the corridor where the development activities take place. The necessary research activities are steered by the guidelines and specify the path that research intends to go. The roadmapping activities within the CoE will be closely linked to national and European roadmapping activities.
