Agency for electric mobility
The "Geschäftstelle Elektromobilität (GSE)" is an external and internal partner of the RWTH Aachen University, which pools the knowledge of the interdisciplinary field of electro-mobility. It is studied with all its facets at more than 30 institutes and chairs here in Aachen. Partners throughout politics and the industry, as well as other cooperation partners, gain a central access to the wide expertise of the RWTH Aachen University in the field of electro-mobility. The various tasks of the GSE include among others: the formation of project consortia and the subsequent organizational support and monitoring of the projects in the form of project management, the preparation of workshops, studies and consultation services, as well as public relations for the RWTH.
The skills of the RWTH in the field of research cover many components of the electric powertrain like the battery, power electronics, and electric engines, their integration in the newly developed automotive concept in the "Purpose Design Approach", as well as the implementation in the corresponding infrastructure. Along with the development of new cars and automotive components in Aachen, the intelligent producibility of these automotive concepts is researched in new and innovative structures. The research field of electro mobility is topped off with the development of advanced mobility concepts, which will influence the urban mobility sustainably. The innovative platform “StreetScooter”, which is accompanied by the GSE, combines the various activities of the RWTH Aachen University in the field of electro mobility.
